Σε ένα πέτρινο κτίριο του προηγούμενου αιώνα, κληθήκαμε να διαμορφώσουμε τον εσωτερικό χώρο του ορόφου σε ένα φιλόξενο και ευχάριστο τουριστικό κατάλυμα.

Οι δομικές παρεμβάσεις είναι ελάχιστες αφήνοντας τον χώρο διημέρευσης ενιαίο να ισορροπεί κομψά με το ελεύθερο ύψος. Η πέτρα ως βασικό δομικό στοιχείο κυριαρχεί στους χώρους, ενώ για τα δάπεδα έχουν επιλεγεί φαρδιές σανίδες από ξύλο δρυός συμβάλλοντας σε ένα αυθεντικό και ζεστό αποτέλεσμα. Η στέγη αποκαλύπτεται και συντηρείται αφήνοντας σε πλήρη θέαση την πολυπλοκότητα της.

Τα κομψά φωτιστικά που επιλέχθηκαν επιτρέπουν στο φωτιστικό αποτέλεσμα να κυριαρχεί και να αναδεικνύει την στέγη και τα λοιπά αυθεντικά στοιχεία του κτιρίου. Τα έγχρωμα κουφώματα, το εμφανές τζάκι, τα διάφορα ξύλινα στοιχεία και τα άνετα έπιπλα σε ουδέτερους χρωματικά τόνους συμπληρώνουν ισορροπημένα το σύνολο.

We were asked to transform the interior of an old stone house in the region of Pelion into a hospitable and pleasant rest house.

Structural interventions are kept to a bare minimum. The living room is left unified and balances in elegance with the height of the space. Bare stone dominates in the interior spaces. Wide oak boards were chosen for the floors, contributing to an authentic and warm end result. The original wooden roof is revealed and conserved. The roofing is left visible to the interior, with attention to its elegant structural details.

Elegant light fixtures highlight the restored original structural components and materials of the roof and the rest of the house. Coloured casings and windows, a cast iron fireplace, wooden elements and cosy furniture in neutral textiles, all contribute to a carefully balanced outcome.
